Project Description

  1. The window is fitted complete with trickle ventilation to provide background room ventilation. In some cases (where the garage exits onto a room rather than a hallway ) fire escape hinges would be fitted to allow escape in the event of a fire.
  2. In this example part of the garage ceiling was covered by a sloping tiled roof, this area was insulated with 300mm of rockwool loft insulation to provide ventilation to the subsequent “Cold Roof” void, cross ventilation was provided at soffit and ridge level to avoid a build up of condensation.
  3. 25mm kingspan insulation is provided to window reveals to avoid “cold bridging” between the external and internal reveals.
  4. Depending upon the existing construction, insulation is provided to the external walls prior to plasterwork.
  5. Where there is a existing room above the garage, insulation is provided between the floor joists to prevent the passage of sound.
  6. Walls and ceilings are plaster boarded with 12.5mm plasterboard and skimmed.
